Welcome to Poppy Cottage
Poppy Cottage is an old Yukon log cabin that has been renovated to a high standard. There’s still the honeyed warmth of old logs but combined with electricity, running water and indoor bathroom facilities. The main living area has a hardwood floor and the entryway and bathroom are tiled. Here you can have a ‘gentle adventure’ in the Yukon wilderness overlooking Lake Laberge where the infamous Sam McGee was cremated.
The cottage is situated in the front yard of the Lodge at Lake Laberge (Bed and Breakfast offered in the main house). There is a view of the lake from the living room window of the cottage. If you want to be closer to nature, you can sit on Salvador Dali’s bench or recline on a lounger on the deck of the main house. You can read, paint or do Yoga to your heart’s content. For the more energetically inclined, there are pleasant strolls along the lake or in the woods or you can venture farther afield to the attractions in the surrounding area.
The cottage is designed as an open living space. There’s a small living room with dining area and kitchen combined. But don’t plan on spending much time indoors as the Yukon has a lot to see and experience.
In front of the living room window are poplar trees and beyond is the sparkling blue water of the lake. Of course, if you come in the winter or the spring, the lake still will sparkle but with ice!
The bedroom has twin beds and plenty of room for hanging clothes. An entryway with closet and bathroom (with shower) complete the accommodation.
Amenities
The cottage is fully furnished and equipped with everything you need to move in and enjoy the Yukon landscape. The kitchen is integrated with the living area and comes with a large fridge, a microwave and a two burner hotplate as well as kettle, coffee pot and all dishes etc. There’s a barbecue on the deck at the front of the cottage and a space for eating outside.
Cost
The cottage is available as a weekly rental. $875.00 fully inclusive (no GST).
If you wish to book, please email me for availability. I require a down payment of $500 and will provide instructions on payment when your booking is confirmed.
